Townlift.com reports that on the morning of September 22, 2021, police were involved in a high-speed chase led by a car traveling through U.S Route 40. The car chase ended in a tragic roll-over in which the driver and the passenger were ejected out of the vehicle. Unfortunately, the passenger was killed while the driver was flown to the nearest hospital in critical condition.
Fox 13 New traffic cameras indicated that U.S Route 40 is still closed near Exit 2 as of 3:30 PM.
